Super Smash Brothers VR | Dolphin VR Emulator

[fusion_text]Dolphin is a Nintendo GameCube and Nintendo Wii emulator. As of now it’s currently the only emulator able of running Wii games. Dolphin VR is the unofficial mod of the emulator that allows the use of Oculus Rift and enables VR in some games. The emulator is available to download at the Oculus Rift Share website but requires a graphically strong computer and access to Nintendo games. The emulator works with most but not all Wii and Gamecube games but requires adjusting your settings (a lot) to run smoothly. One of the games that work well with the emulator is Super Smash Brothers Brawl, which gives the player a different perspective of the game we’ve all grown to love.[/fusion_text][separator style_type=”single” top_margin=”10″ bottom_margin=”10″ sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””][youtube id=”IMefTqcmbnE” width=”650″ height=”420″ autoplay=”no” api_params=”” class=””][separator style_type=”single” top_margin=”10″ bottom_margin=”10″ sep_color=”” icon=”” width=”” class=”” id=””][fusion_text]When playing Super Smash Brothers in VR your head becomes mapped to the camera. You’re free to look anywhere you want during gameplay, which includes ahead, below and above the current stage. Another neat feature is that pausing the game allows you to look around the characters up close in great detail. Playing a quick match just to pause it during cool moments is enjoyable in Smash Bros without VR, but being able to stand 3 feet away from Mario fighting Link is pretty cool to say the least. Though Virtual Reality gives the game a fresh new look, it doesn’t add much to the gameplay experience. One of the main problems is that the blast zone are invisible and unless you know the stages pretty well you may end up walking off the map. Other then random graphical issues such as moving shadows and random clipping Super Smash Brothers Brawl is playable in the Dolphin VR emulator and fans of the series should give it a try.[/fusion_text]
