Nimble Sense joining Oculus | Bring Your Hands into VR
Nimble Sense just canceled their Kickstarter campaign to announce that they are being acquired by Oculus. The Nimble Sense team released a statement stating that they will be joining Oculus with hopes of bringing their hand tracking software to the Oculus Rift.
Today, we’re happy to share that we’ll be joining forces with Oculus, a team that is creating an entirely new medium, platform and industry. We’re excited not only to continue to push at the boundaries of input and user experience in VR, but to do so with the resources and means to make a bigger impact on a larger audience.
This is great news for Oculus. The Nimble VR 4 man team developed many of the hand tracking systems that have already been tested and out in the market. The best example is that they are the one’s who developed the hand and finger tracking for the Kinect
The Nimble Sense is a depth sensing camera that captures your hands for VR input. Optimized for the Oculus Rift, but flexible. Its is designed to be mounted onto of the Oculus Rift just like the leap motion add-on.
Hope you’re excited because I know I am.
